Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticise or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed.
I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head.
When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus.
These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between.
My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished.
My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world.
The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war.
For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person.
I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought.

Grammy-nominated Upstrz is excited to announce the release of his EP, Meet Me Upstrz. The R&B singer-songwriter has collaborated with some of today's biggest artists—Chris Brown, Eric Bellinger and more—and now he's ready to make his mark in the industry. LISTEN HERE
“It's been a long time coming, and I can't wait for my fans to hear the vulnerable side of me through my music," says Upstrz.
As a collection of work, Meet Me Upstrz digs deep into an introspective perspective, touching on topics like love and heartbreak over some smooth instrumentals that pull from R&B and hip-hop influences. In line with that, his new single, "Mine," is a modern-day R&B love song that combines smooth production and heartfelt lyrics, evoking a youthful Michael Jackson.
In addition to acting as executive producer and producer for "Mad Now" and "Meant to Be," Grammy winner Troy Taylor explains, "Upstrz exemplifies who he is as an artist and writer. From start to finish, he demonstrates his ability to deliver quality music with his unique style, diversity, and originality.”
With eight songs, this project combines soulful production with a modern soundscape—a feat that was accomplished by producers Troy Taylor, Tariq Beats, Boobie Robinson, and Brackz, to name a few.

SHOCKING, FUTURISTIC, REVOLUTIONARY AND DIFFERENT.
Ed Rox is a young rapper from Carolina (Puerto Rico) who surprises with an untraditional proposal called La TrilogÃa, which promises to be a trend in the urban genre. Ed Rox is a naughty, inappropriate and funny rapper. Those who know him would say he has a little bit of genius and a little bit of crazy. He promises to impact the urban genre with a futuristic and risky proposal.
La TrilogÃa. This is a new way of telling a story in a fun way. It is composed of three videos, its first track: “Mucho Gusto”; it continues with the video of “La Ciencia” and concludes with the video of “Bájale 1000”. Parallel to the story in the videos of this trilogy, Ed Rox raps clever and unconventional lyrics, creating a connection with the audience and generating a fun and joyful vibe. This new concept invites the public to participate in a new risky but authentic project that, more than being explained, has to be experienced and felt.
MUCHO GUSTO - Ed Rox “the madman”, an ordinary, authentic and proud of his origin young man is about to enter an insane asylum. Then, in the video it is shown how Ed Rox “the madman” is being admitted to the asylum, but because he is so skilled, he will make the psychiatrist fall in love with him during the admission interview. This first video is constructed as a half-fatal, Pulp Fiction-like love story.
LA CIENCIA - Ed Rox “the madman” is in the asylum and the nurse puts him in a straitjacket. The nurse gives him special treatment and since “the madman” is resourceful, even while he’s in the asylum tied up, he seduces both the psychiatrist and the nurse and they dance for him, comb his hair and are very special with him, while the nurse makes his beard. This time Ed Rox “the madman” gets his way again using his genius powers of persuasion. In addition to the above, “the madman” is always in his business and you can see how the “Mira Diime” Asylum is part of his investments.
BAJALE 1000 - Shows Ed Rox “el loco” in the back of a car, with a driver and co-driver who cannot be identified. “The Madman” flaunts his power as he is now free and empowered. He has the backing of his companions. Halfway through the video the car stops and the driver gets out, who surprisingly, it is observed to be a woman without a mask and flirting with “The Madman”. The identity of the driver and the co-driver is fully seen: the psychiatrist and the nurse from the asylum who, convinced by the wit of Ed Rox “the madman”, who is also a bit of a genius, decide to accompany him in his witticisms and misdeeds. Demonstrating his power and conviction over others at all times. The above shows the outcome of the crazy love story achieved by the protagonist.
His talent is in elaborating the tracks and making word games, as if putting together a puzzle, with an unusual style, resulting in funny stories, with an entertaining and intelligent street language.
Empowered and self-confident, Ed Rox wants to show his followers another way of rapping, with a different symbology, capturing other realities, but with a little peculiar language, always assuming a radical stance and leaving, with his lyrics, a clear and forceful message. This can be seen in his recent discography that makes up La TrilogÃa: “Mucho gusto”, “La Ciencia” and “Bájale 1000”, which begins the musical development of an artist who came to stay.

Raised in the small town of Olney, Maryland MNA (Matthew Nino Azcuy) watched and listened to all of the greatest rappers and musicians during the 1990’s and early 2000’s. During this golden age of music and music videos, Azcuy was inspired by both rappers and rock groups alike, and when he was sixteen years old decided to make his own music. After years of finding his sound, he teamed up with local producer nemo, to make his album “Diamond Dog”. Matthew Nino Azcuy, who prefers to just go by MNA, was born and raised in the small town of Olney, Maryland during the 1990s and early 2000s and has taken great inspiration from the great names of this time for his work as a result. Indeed, his music's unique energy and passion often come from these early inspirations, offering a unique blend of the rock and rap genres to create an electronic-type sound that's wonderfully unique. MNA's first ventures in the music field occurred at the age of sixteen when he first ventured into music writing. However, it took years for him to truly find that one unique sound that he could call "his" - but we're so glad that he got there in the end! In fact, music writing was something of a saving grace for Azcuy, who turned to the comfort offered by songwriting after a difficult period in his life, and he credits both God and his music for helping him to get back on track and strive for greater pursuits. As well as being an accomplished singer and songwriter, MNA has also dabbled in several other creative fields as a professional movie actor and published author, with numerous works of poetry to his name. Some of his previous musical albums include titles such as Black Flag, Paradise, and For You. We wish MNA all the best with his musical career, and with over 1000 monthly listens on Spotify alone, it's fair to say he's an up-and-coming artist to keep an eye on! MNA proves himself to be a rather versatile performer, capable of sincere, emotionally expressive R&B crooning, and casual, charismatic rapping. He often incorporates bits of humor into his delivery, which keeps the vibe fresh and fun.
Mercenary by MNA is an album about the dark fantasy world in which rap culture and the entertainment industry exist. Mercenary, which compares a businessman to a gun for hire, is an album and story that depicts the battle inside of every entrepreneur. How fighting for one’s money, power, career, legacy, and place in the world can often resemble the personal sacrifice of war and soldiers, albeit for profit. This album was inspired by the personal successes and two-year journey of rap artist MNA and his music production company MNA Industries in the music world. "Mercenary" was recorded by City's Best Sounds in Olney, MD and was released on January 22, 2022.

Celebrated for her embodied vocals and visceral delivery, Coline Creuzot leans into her identity as a strategic and impactful performer on her upcoming acoustic version of “That Feeling.” Cathartic, kind-hearted, and universal, the single calls upon emotions that ring true to the human experience. "That Feeling" takes an honest look at relationships and ruminates on the emotions that arise when letting someone go.
While the original version of "That Feeling" was produced by three time Grammy Award winning producer Troy Taylor (Trey Songz, Whitney Houston) and multi-platinum G Sparkz (Meek Mill, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young MA), the acoustic set uses dialed back soundscapes to lean into the gravity of Creuzot's vocals while further developing an emotional depth to pair with the thematics of heartbreak, tenderness, and acceptance. The use of melancholic piano, diluted guitar, and ethereal harmonies lifts Coline’s awe-inspiring vocals to the forefront of the track, creating an air of intimacy and genuine intent. The nature of “That Feeling” is meditative, focused on appreciating the highs and lows of a past relationship and moving forward with grace. The acoustic version of the track allows time and space for contemplative thought as Creuzot dives deep into her own subconscious with careful vocal choices and contrasting moments of both power and restraint.
Coline Creuzot has opened for Drake, Keyshia Cole, David Banner and T.I. and has collaborated with icons such as Sam Hook (Ne-Yo, Ella Mai, Trey Songz, Keyshia Cole) and Happy Perez (Miguel, Mariah Carey and Frank Ocean) throughout her career. She has received acclaim from several publications such as BET, Essence, Earmilk, VIBE, and called "an artist at the forefront” by Ebony Magazine.
Bino will release his debut EP in January 2023 and “Wake ‘Em Up” is the second single on the EP. A powerful song about shifting your mindset, HoodTrophy Bino calls upon his past struggles to help guide him in accomplishing his dreams today.
“You can wake up on different levels,” says Bino about the song and video. “You can become woke about your life – how you want it to be, instead of how it keeps crashing out of control.” The video shows Bino thrashing in bed, having a nightmare. Past excesses torment him, but he finds himself living the life he had always dreamed of - a gorgeous girlfriend (played by K.Shiday), a lit luxury beach house in Marina Del Rey, and close friends celebrating his new house, lifestyle, and accomplishments.
Bino is still striving to reach this dream – he began life in poverty with seven brothers and sisters (thirteen counting step-siblings) where they would sleep in hotels with two beds, a couch, and his mom and step-dad on the floor. “I had nothing growing up,” recalls Bino. “Trauma became an everyday part of my life. My pops is serving a life sentence in San Quentin. My best friend growing up was kidnapped and executed when I was 17.”
K. Shiday lends her voice to the single with sheer magnetism and effortless, charismatic flow. Resonating deeply with the song’s message, the artist confides, “I am rebranding myself. I am independent now and the song and video with Bino appealed to me.” Together, HoodTrophy Bino and K. Shiday create a captivating dynamic, united by the same story of overcoming obstacles through music, determination, and self-expression. The song infuses piano and a music-box back drop to a track with both artists rapping hard to make their fairytale a reality.

Rp Big Wes has been buzzing since dropping his first single “10-12 Days” the Birmingham, Alabama native very well may be the next artist to blow up from Alabama. Rp Big Wes has been putting in major work over the last few years developing his sound and making connections across the music industry. He has been spotted in the music videos of Famous Kid Brick, Tee Grizzly, Calboy, Smokepurp and many other artist.
We had the honor of speaking with RP Big Wes and asked him few questions:
What was it like growing up in Birmingham, Alabama?
Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama wasn’t a much different experience than growing up in any major city in America. My child hood consisted mostly of sports especially Football and although it wasn’t always easy my parents always provided.
Outside of yourself who are some up-and-coming artists from Alabama we should be on the lookout for?
Alabama is crawling with talent so it is impossible to name them all but some of my favorite artist who I think yall well be seeing around forsure are TTO K.T, Quality Que, Tc Gambino, Leland J, Raw Dawg and King Senior.
If you were able to collaborate with 10 renowned musicians dead or alive who would they be?
I listen to a lot of different music so this is a very difficult question. It would honestly depend on the vibe of the project but my top 10 would have to be Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Future, Lil Boosie, Burna Boy, Tems, Tupac, Kodak Black, Rihanna, and the Goat Michael Jackson.
For our final question, what are you working on now?
Im currently just working on singles and deciding which one to drop next. I do have plans to drop a EP as well that will be called “Big Wes Mt. Everest” although I am unsure of a date

The single uses reflective lyricism about the past rappers’ experiences absorbed by gang life to contrast the full-circle success found through focus and music. The music video is chalk full of gold bars, excessive bands of cash, designer streetwear, and luxury jewelry as the four rappers celebrate over the flashing lights of their personal police car. Star2 is a driving force behind the abstract flow as he connects each rapper's story with an ominous, intimidating hook. “Up” represents the struggles that everyone has overcome through sharp sonics and a diverse team of impactful voices.
Like HoodTrophy Bino, Star2 is a collaborator of Soulja Boy’s. On his latest single “New Me”, Star2 brought together Luh Kel and Soulja Boy for an explosive rap performance. Star2 celebrates his journey through music as he began his life in a Thai refugee camp and gained passage to San Diego through a lottery.
