Portia Palmer is a native of Baton Rouge, La. known to her fans as Miss Portia. Born to musically talented parents, it is no surprise she can sing and harmonize with the best of them. Miss Portia is a dedicated and driven performer, focused on building herself a successful musical legacy in the “Southern Soul” musical genre. Her soulful seductive sounds, down home charm, and creative lyrical passion creates a memorable experience, that her listeners connect to and instantly identify with. Miss Portia’s musical performance exudes compassion, grit, heart and warmth to both her male and female fans. She is the Southern Soul “Champion of Women”.
Miss Portia broke into southern soul music in 2014 on the Louisiana Blues Brotha's breakthrough album...Love on the Bayou, accompanying Tyree Neal on "I'm Still Wearing Your Name." Miss Portia started charting in April 2015 and won Best New Artist 2017 ZBT Award.
Miss Portia writes her own lyrics and has numerous hits such as Get Your Money Girl, My Sidepiece Reply and It’s Gone Cost You to name a few. ‘The Duchess of Southern Soul’ has collaborated with many established performers in this category and she currently has a duet with Cupid, For My Ladies.
To date, she’s made appearances on various musical tours, trail rides, and concert dates with artists such as Pokey Bear, Cupid, Tucka, Lacee, and musical legend Betty Wright. It was only a few years ago that Miss Portia introduced herself as a performing artist, but she has shown she can hold her own and is just getting started.
Miss Portia is currently set on a few upcoming tours and is slated for more musical duet projects scheduled for late 2019 throughout 2020. She’s aggressively working in the studio on her album next full CD release as well as working on videos for songs yet to be released ... watch for
